Chisana Senshi Karate Club as a Club
Chisana Senshi Karate Club is becoming one of the fastest growing and inclusive clubs in Leeds, growing both in terms of students and in terms of success at a competitive level at competitions around the UK.
The club provides karate classes from everyone aged 4+ and provides members with the option to simply either progress their karate in class or also pursue a competitive aspect through the development of a strong competition squad. The club is also proud to have a strong female membership in a sport that is often seen as male dominated.
The club is primarily run as a labour of love by Shelly Collinson 4th Dan and Richard Green 1st Dan, who offer over 5 hours of classes a week as well as both also holding down full-time jobs. Shelly has over 18 years karate experience and both her and Richard have competed and achieved medals at World Champion level as juniors and adults. Shelly is still competing alongside her students regularly and is currently a double WKC World Champion. They’re passionate about spreading their love for karate as well as helping young karateka reach the highest levels and also experience the many different experiences and opportunities karate and competitive sport in general offers.
Our Story so far
The club is part of KKO (Kenshin Karate Organisation) and affiliated to the World Union of Karate-do Federations (WUKF).
Have had a strong competitive background themselves both Shelly and Richard were keen to develop and grow a competitive squad and culture in the club.
Our students have been given the opportunity to compete internationally in the likes of Romania, Poland and Sweden competing in both European and World Championships.
We currently have two students under 8 years old who are already World Championships as well and them and 5 other holding both regional and national titles. Between them, bringing home over 200 medals in the last 3 years.
Sponsorship
Karate is a self-funded sport and this can have huge financial impacts on our students and their families, because of this we are looking for club sponsorship to help our current and future World Champions to compete internationally.
Attending championships will not only provide a rare opportunity for these young athletes to travel abroad and compete, the ability for each of them to add the experience and achievement to their CV’s, can have significant and long lasting impact on their lives but also significantly improve and broaden their future higher education opportunities.
Benefits of sponsorship
Sponsoring this local team will not only allow you to support the futures of these young Leeds athletes, it will also provide you with an opportunity to promote your own business and brand and increase your overall brand and media exposure.
This will include:
- Media exposure across all of our social media platforms

- Your brand logo on our equipment such as equipment bags, Gi bags
- Your logo on our website
- Your logo on our club pull up banners
- Prepared branded content and team photographs for distribution on your own social media and digital platforms

- Cost of each competitor’s kit
It will also have an ongoing surplus use of:
- Subsidising the cost of the squads transport to UK competitions
